The Minister of Youth and Sports, Alieu K. Jammeh, has expressed optimism that with prayers The Gambia can get positive result in Namibia despite their 1-1 draw with the Brave Warriors in the first leg tie of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.

Minister Jammeh was speaking to reporters shortly after the Scorpions’ 1-1 draw with Brave Warriors in the global biggest football fiesta qualifiers played at the weekend.

The sports minister said the performance against Cameroon was much better than that of Namibia, adding that the players were playing under pressure as “playing at home is always difficult and the players were a little bit nervous”.

Mr Jammeh expressed hope that The Gambia can get positive result in Namibia today and qualify for the second round of the qualifiers.
