Housebreaking and stealing lands men in court

Omar Saidy Fatajo and Alagie Malick Oko Drammeh were on Monday arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with housebreaking and stealing.

According to the particulars of offence on count one, on 7 April 2012, at Brikama Nyanbai, the accused persons, Omar Saidy Fatajo and Alagie Malick Oko Drammeh, broke into the house of one Malang Njie with intent to commit an offence.

Count two stated that the two accused persons on the same date and at the same place, stole one Jamano phone valued at D2, 000, a Nokia valued at D1, 700 and 42,000 CFA, equivalent to D12, 000 and cash amounting to D3, 300.

The first accused, Omar Saidy Fatajo, pleaded guilty to both counts and was subsequently remanded in custody, while the second accused person, Alagie Malick Oko Drammeh, who denied the charge, was granted bail of D150,000 with two Gambian sureties.

The case was adjourned till 30 May 2010, for hearing.
