Gunjur United flinch training for Regional 3rd tier

Gunjur United Football Club on Monday started intensive training for the 2015-2016 West Coast Regional third division league season, at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.

Under the guidance of head coach Bubacarr Kakai Bojang and his technical staff Gunjur United FC will use the intensive training session to scout good players that will represent the town in the 2015-2016 West Coast Regional third division league season.

Gunjur United Football Club finished fourth place in the 2014-2015 West Coast Regional third division league table with 35 points in twenty-two games.

Bubacarr Kakai Bojang, head coach of Gunjur United Football Club, said he was really impressed with the performance in the past two seasons, adding that they used the past two seasons to gain experience in the third division league hence this season their target is to gain promotion to the second division after spending two seasons in the third tier.

Coach Bojang expressed optimism that his team can gain promotion to the second tier, saying his players are ready to play this season and gain automatic promotion to the second division.

For his part, the president of Gunjur United FC, Sulayman Sambou, said the players are keen to play for the club and their target this season is to gain promotion to the second division.

Any Gunjur United player who would want to leave the club and join other clubs in the country, “the door is open for them”, Sambou said, adding that they always want to see Gunjur players playing their football at the highest level and the various national teams.
