Mr. Alhagie Sulayman Touray, the Alkalo of Gunjur, Kombo South and Mrs. Ajaratou Mai Kebbeh Darboe, the head of the village women wing (Ngansimba) recently returned home from Marlborough in the UK.

The visit of the Alkalo and Ngansimba was geared towards discussing important issues with their partners in Marlborough, among them, the regulation and re-enforcement of over 25 years of partnership between Gunjur and Marlborough in the UK.

They also agreed on terms to provide at least 10 pounding machines for the women of Gunjur, and to also continue the exchange visit.

The happy-looking Gunjurians of over 5,000 people comprising different age groups gave heroes welcome to their two leaders.

Both Alkalo and Ngansimba described the visit as a success. They hailed the villagers for the warm welcome accorded to them.

They said the move undertaken by the villagers is a step in the right direction, noting that it is a clear testimony that there is unity in Gunjur.
