Global Hands launches book entitled ‘The Graveyard Cannot Pray’

Global Hands Leicester recently launched a book entitled The Graveyard Cannot Pray in collaboration with their Gambia office at a ceremony held at the Alliance Francaise on Kairaba Avenue.

Authored by Baba G. Jallow, the book talks about the life story of a man and his daughter, and bordering on a battle to save his daughter from female circumcision.

The book also emphasizes the protection of one’s child from the practice of female circumcision. According to the author, the book will educate the community in a small Fula village in The Gambia on the harmful effects of FGM.

Speaking at the launching of the book, Dr Momodou Sallah, chair of Global Hands Leicester, thanked all those who attended the launching of “this great book” and applauded a job well done by the author Baba G. Jallow.

He said Global Hands’ objective is to at least publish different sets of books every year in which the work of the author is one among their already published books.

Speakers at the ceremony included Dr Isatou Touray, who expressed also similar sentiments.
