GFA, Partners Set To Stage President Jammeh Tournament

Juan Antonio De Moral from The Gambia’s consulate in Barcelona and the Gambian community with their partners in Spain, in collaboration with the Gambia Football Association will be staging the first-ever football tournament in honour of President Jammeh, slated for the 13th – 17th July 2010 in Banjul.
According to Seedy Kinteh, the President of the Gambia Football Association, the tournament which is expected to last for five days is organised in a bid to provide a platform of players from U-20 exposure.
He said “In this connection and in view of the importance of this tournament, it’s to be staged in honour of President Jammeh whose valuable contribution in the development and promotion of sports in the country is unprecedented.”
Kinteh added that the tournament will give the GFA and the organisers the unique opportunity to identify clubs that will take part in the tournament.
