Gamcel FC are through to the 2011-2012 Gunjur Knockout final following their hard-fought 1-0 win over Commit FC in the first semifinal game played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Saturday.
Gamcel FC, also known as the cellular boys, who did book a ticket to the league, came into the game with the intention of snatching a victory against Commit FC. The victory has now made them double finalists in the tournament.
Gamcel opened the score through striker Yusupha Barrow (alias Beckham) in the 25th minute of the game, which eventually proved to be the winner that earned them a place in the knockout final.
Lanuja FC also advanced to the final following their hard-fought 2-1 win over Solifo Investment FC in the second semifinal game on Sunday with goals from Amat Darboe and Basiru Touray respectively.
Gunjur will face Lanuja FC in the knockout final.
