Gambia U-20 resume training for African U-20 qualifiers against Morocco

The Gambia national U-20 team has resumed training for their crucial 2017 African U-20 Qualifiers second round first leg tie with Morocco.

The Darling Scorpions are set to host Young Atlas Lions in the first leg tie of the second round of the 2017 African U-20 Qualifier on 21 May 2016, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Gambia hammered Sierra Leone 4-0 on aggregate in the first round of the qualifiers to set date for the second round tie against Morocco.

Coach Omar Sise’s charges will use the next three weeks to prepare themselves fit enough for their crucial clash with the North African powerhouse Morocco for a place in the continent’s junior biggest football fiesta to be hosted in Zambia next year, after eliminating Sierra Leone in the first round of the qualifiers.

Gambia lost to Morocco 4-0 in the first leg of the 2013 African U-20 qualifiers before they withdrew from the qualifiers.
