Friday, November 21, 2008

Our Darling U-17 scorpions are entangled in a do or die match on Saturday 22ndat the Independence stadium with Ghana U-17 in the second leg of the CAF U-17 Youths Championship Qualifiers.

The baby Scorpions lost to Ghana U-17 by 3-1 in the first leg a fortnight ago. Playing at their home ground our boys need to score two goals to advance to the tournament proper in Algiers in 2009.

Speaking to Pointsports, the Assistant Coach of the U-17, Mr. Lamin Sambou, said, "we need support from the Gambians on Saturday so as to boast our morals in order to win".

Mr. Sambou expressed optimism come Saturday they will qualify for Algiers.

The Coach of the senior team Mr. Paul Put, serving as a technical assistant, is of the belief that the boys will beat Ghana. He noted that the Boys are determined and ready for victory. Mr. Put added, the Boys have a chance of qualifying.
