The trial of one Momodou K. Darboe was on Monday deferred until 7 August 2008 for further hearing.

Magistrate John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates' Court adjourned the case because the defence counsel was not in court.

The accused is alleged to have wanted to defraud one Seedy Jarra of the sum of sixty thousand dalasis.

This is said to have taken place on 24th May 2008 at Tawto village in Kombo North.

The accused is alleged to have obtained the sum of money with the assurance that he was going to facilitate his travel to Denmark with the Gambia Scout Association to attend the International Scout Jamboree. His claim turned out to be false.

He also obtained the sum of twenty thousand dalasis from one Momodou S. Jallow with the same claim.
