One
of Gambia’s most prestigious financial institutions FiBank Gambia Limited has
agreed to partner with the Gambia Football Federation to sponsor the 2016 Super
Nawettan Football tournament 2016.
The
bank and the GFF have further renewed their commitment for the bank to continue
bankrolling the Super Nawettan for the next three editions.
This development was finally sealed at a
meeting between the GFF and FiBank on Thursday 29 September 2016, at the bank’s
head office on Kairaba Avenue.
As
part of the package, FiBank will give out D350, 000:00 out of which D75,000
will be rewarded for the champions and D50,000 for the runners-up.
All
the participating zones will be provided set of jerseys and preparatory costs
among others ahead of the kickoff of the tournament.
The
Thursday meeting was attended by senior officials of GFF headed by 2nd vice
president Ebou Faye and FiBank Senior Management team headed by Pa Ousman Njie.
The
2016 Super Nawettan is set to kick off on 8 October 2016 and would last for
three weeks at five-designated playgrounds such as Banjul, Brikama, Manjai,
Serrekunda East and Serrrekunda West.
The
Independence Stadium will host the semifinals and final match of the nawettan.
