A Magistrate Court in Brikama recently convicted and sentenced one Dudou Jatta, a resident of Brikama to a fine of D6000, in default to serve 12 months imprisonment for "precursory execution of document by false pretence."
The convict, who pleaded guilty to the charge, was on 6th February 2010, at the Banjul International Airport said to have presented himself to the Spanish Airline by presenting a fake German visa No 60084674, with a Gambian passport No PC 270060.
He begged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying that he would not do it again.
Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Effim stated that the accused person is a young man who should have used the money for his education rather than procured a fake document.
