FA Cup Set For Its Climax

After a thrilling encounters in the ongoing Gamtel sponsored FA Cup championship, the tournament will reach its semi final stage tomorrow Saturday 11th July 2009, when the telecommunication boys Gamtel will lock horn with Bakau United in a all top flight derby in the first semi final to be play at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama at 4.30pm.

The telecommunication boys advanced to semis following their narrow 2-1 triumph over the last FA Cup runners up Samger in a keenly contested quarter finals played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Bakau United sailed to the semis thanks to their 8-7 win over Tallinding United in the quarter finals at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

While on Sunday 12th July 2009, Africell FC will host the surprise package Young Africans from the second have booked a place in the semi final after eliminating both the reigning league champions Armed Forces and the defending FA Cup holders Wallidan. Young African will face relegated Africell at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium at 4.30pm.

It will be recalled that Africell FC made it to the semis after edging out their city rivals Steve Biko 4-3 on penalties in their quarter final encounter following a 0-0 result in the regular time of play at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Young Africans as expected will also maintain their strong and resilient tactics when the face another second division outfit in Africell on Sunday.
