Eight In The Dock For Alleged Obstruction

Eight youths: Kebba Kinteh, Kabba Conteh, Pa Musa Njokeh, Ousainou Sarjo, Alpha Jawo, Ansumana Sillah, Yusupha Faal and Cherno Gomez, all residents of  Ebo Town, were on Monday 17th August 2009, arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court for allegedly obstructing police officers on duties.

All the accused persons have pleaded not guilty to the charge.

They were remanded on bail by the presiding magistrate, Abdoulie Mbake, on the deposition of D1500 each or the provision of a Gambian surety, who must be in possession of a property of that value, to be deposited with the Assistant Registrar, pending the determination of the case, which was adjourned to 26th August 2009 for hearing.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons on or about 13th August, 2009, at Ebo Town, wilfully obstructed police officers: Jerreh Jatta, Kebba Sanneh, Lamin S. Jamanka and Mariama Jasseh, in due execution of their duties.
