Ebola Update

A Cuban doctor has contracted in Sierra Leone the Ebola virus and was flown to Geneva. There are 165 Cuban doctors in Sierra Leone.

The Sierra Leonean doctor who contracted the virus and was flown to the US died on Tuesday, hospital sources said.

Togo has cancelled the biennial football tournament which re-groups the 8 African states because of the Ebola virus disease outbreak in West Africa.

The situation of the Ebola virus in Mali is alarming; there are 650 cases to be examined.

Three people have died in Mali with four confirmed cases, including a doctor. Malians are avoiding large gatherings and shaking hands.

France has warned its citizens not to go to Mali

Russia is sending medical experts to West Africa, equipment and medicines.

Already 8 Russian doctors have been working in Guinea on the Ebola disease since August 2014.

The opposition in Mali has urged the government to close the border with Guinea, since the situation is alarming.

A World Bank report said half of workers in Liberia refuse to go to work because of the severe Ebola virus disease outbreak in the country.
