Dippakunda United advanced to the quarterfinal of the ongoing Serrekunda West Sports Organisation (SWESO) Nawetan competition after beating Cambel Town FC by 2-nil on Wednesday at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
Both teams came into the game with the hope of collecting the maximum three points by putting up brilliant performance and also creating various goal-scoring opportunities in the opening minutes of the game.
Lamin Badjan scored a brace for Dippakunda United in the 18th and 25th minutes of the game to earn his side all three points and a place in the quarterfinal stage of the nawettan competition.
His first goal came from a superb corner kick and his second a sensible strike to complete a double for his side.
Modou Jatta struck the cross bar for Dippakunda United in the dying minutes of the game from a powerful shot.
Dippakunda United have now joined Blackpool FC, Ajax FC, Old Jeshwang United, Kongi Bi FC, Tigers FC to earlier secure their places in the quarterfinals of the competition.
