Deadlock at Gunjur League Final

Cathy FC and Gamcel FC, the two arch rivals, over the weekend clash in the 2008 Gunjur League Final ended 3-3 and the final is re-scheduled until further notice.

The thrilling encounter, which ended 3-3, saw both sides played build up counter attacks from defense and play offensive football in the first 20 of the game.

Gamcel FC open the scoring in the 18th minute through Yusupha Barrow, alias Beckham, from the penalty spot after Cathy midfielder Lamin Jarju handled the ball inside the 18 yard box.

Cathy FC made a remarkable fight back and leveled the scores in the 25th minute of match through striker Fakebba Touray, alias Puyol. Yusupha Sonko doubled the tally for Cathy FC in the 41st minute and the first half ended 2-1 in favour of Cathy FC.

As action resumed in the second half the Gamcel FC players were all determined and ready for victory. They leveled the score to 2-2 in the 48th minute through their full back Sainey Gibba. Pa Modou Jatta, alias Saviola, registered Gamcel FC's third goal in the 87th minute while Cathy FC equalised in the 92nd minute through Fasaikou Bojang, alias Sunday, to ensure another day out for both teams.
