The training which will be conducted in two phases, will feature Western Region and North Bank Region.

Today's opening in Western Region will take place at the Regional Education Office in Brikama. The course runs till the 27th of March.

Johnny Gomez, President of The Gambia Cricket Association, said the first target is the training of teachers; and from the 26th to the 27th March 2009, about two hundred students will be trained at the GambiaCollege.

The second phase of the project with North Bank Region will run 31st March to 3rd April featuring teachers and students from the region.

"An awareness HIV/AIDS match featuring The Gambia U-13 and U-19 cricket teams will take place on the 4th of April to mark the end of the ICC centenary celebration for The Gambia", the cricket prexy pointed out.
