Justice Emmanuel NKea of the Special Criminal Court in Banjul has issued a witness sermon against one Salifu Camara, a police officer attached to Wellingara Police Station, who investigated the rape involving one Bakary Sambou.

The development came when the case was called and the witness was not in court for cross-examination, who earlier testified as the fourth prosecution witness (PW4).

The state counsel then applied to the court for the witness sermon to be issued against the witness, Salifu Camara, who had testified earlier, but his evidence was never tested under cross-examination.

The court upholds the state counsel’s application and adjourned the case till 23 April 2013, for cross-examination of PW4.
