The Brikama Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one Alagie Jawara to a fine of D1,000 in default to serve two weeks in prison.

Convicted for stealing a mobile phone, Alagie Jawara was also ordered to compensate the complainant with D1,750 in default to serve two weeks in prison with hard labour.

The facts of the case, as narrated by the prosecuting officer, Sgt Gibba, stated that it happened on 11 August 2011, at Brikama Misira.
