The team and delegation that left Italy yesterday and travelled via Dakar to Banjul where they are expected to be met at the Banjul ferry terminal for a welcome ceremony, Bakary B. Baldeh, GFA Media Officer, has announced.

The Young Scorpions beat newcomers China at the Sunday finals of the Umbria Regional tournament a goal to nil courtesy of Momodou Badjie, who plays his local football for Hawks.

The Gambia overcame Slovenia, San Marino and Umbria in the group phase before facing off hosts Italy at the semis to beat them 3-1 at penalties after a one-all stalemate at normal time.

Again the young Hawks revelation made his name in the scoring sheet equaling his goal tally to four, the highest in the tournament.
