Brikama Utd conquers Hawks to maintain league title defence

Brikama United, Saturday defeated Hawks 2-1 in the week-five encounter, played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to maintain their league title defence.

The Sateyba boys were sitting mid-table in the country’s top league table with 6 points after winning one game and drawing three before battling with Hawks, who gripped 7 points.

Striker Adama Manneh gave Sateyba boys the lead in the 15th  minute of the match before tallish man Mustapha Njie fired home the second goal in the 75th minute to earn his side the maximum points to keep their league title defend ambitions.

Hawks are with 7 points in five league games and will contend to rebound in the league after losing to Brikama United.

Meanwhile, embattle Gambia Ports Authority drew goalless with Fortune; the ferry boys  now bagged 5 points in five league outings and petroleum boys with 6 points in five league ties.
