The 2010 Gambia Football Association division league champions Brikama United lost to Senegalese FA Cup champions Cassa Sport 2-1 in an international friendly game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium on Friday.

The friendly was part of Brikama United’s preparations for the 2012 CAF African champions league. Cassa Sport opened the scoring through striker Pape Sanneh in the 23rd minute of the game after slashing through Brikama United’s line to give his side the lead.

Moments later Cassa Sport found themselves 2-0 ahead when winger Assan Drammeh netted the second goal from the penalty spot after striker Pape Sanneh was brought down inside Brikama United’s eighteen yard box.

Brikama United fought back and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities in front of Cassa Sport’s goal-mouth, and managed to pull back one goal through striker Musa Bojang in the 80th minute of the game from a spectacular header from Bully Drammeh cross, which brought Brikama United back into the game.

Winger Modou Jallow (alias Figo) could have levelled the score for Brikama United in 89th minute of the game when Brikama United’s striker Musa Bojang was brought down inside Cassa Sport’s eighteen yard box but Cassa Sport goalkeeper saved the equaliser and thus the game ended 2-1 in favour of Cassa Sport.
