Brikama Athletics Association (BAA) will organise a
marathon run in Brikama in Kombo Central in the West Coast Region on12 January
2013, to promote and develop the sport in the region.
The marathon run, which will feature male 15km race and female 8km race, is expected to attract participants from West Coast Region and its satellite areas.
According to the chairman of the BAA, Lamin Camara, preparations for the first-ever Brikama Marathon is in high gear, adding that the marathon run is open to all athletes in the West Coast Region.
Camara also said preparations for the 2012 National Youth Conference and Festival (NYCOF) to be hosted in Bansang is in high gear, disclosing that the region has scout good athletes for the country’s youth’s bi-annual conference and festival.
