In it’s drive to complement the government’s efforts in attaining Vision 2016 (grow what you eat and eat what you grow), Big Smile Gambia over the weekend supported the people of Lower River Region in Bureng village, where they provided them with agricultural materials.

Big Smile Gambia, which was given land by the community, fenced the area, and this year gave the village garden inputs such as vegetables, watering cans, wheelbarrows, buckets, and rakes among others.

It would be recalled that last year, Big Smile Gambia gave Bureng village hospital equipment, clothes for kids and other materials.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony on behalf of Big Smile Gambia, Diana Saine said this was just the beginning of numerous support activities they intend to carry out, adding that they would do their best to help the community.

Big Smile Gambia members also visited the village schools, garden and skills centre and made promises to the three areas visited.

Big Smile Gambia officials also visited Jiffereh village, where the commissioner of police, Abdoulie Sanneh, who is a native of the village, accompanied them.

They also promised to help the village with agricultural materials, if the community could provide a plot of land.

The final place visited by Big Smile Gambia was Kaiaf village hospital, where they also promised to help with hospital equipment, during their next visit.
