B.B. Dabo registers political Party

Former vice president during First Republic, Bakary B. Dabo has registered his political party, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced on Thursday, 2nd January, 2020.

The party is Gambia for All (GFA).

“The Independent Electoral Commission hereby wishes to notify the general public that having met the requirements for registration under section 105 of the Elections Act 2009 (as amended), a new party: Gambia For All this 2nd day of January 2, 2020 has been duly registered as a bona fide political party,” a news release from the IEC said.

The release also outlined the particulars of the registered party, with Bakary B. Dabo as secretary and party leader.

The party’s colour is light blue, (top three quarters) and a gold (bottom one quarter) with a swarm of bees on wings featured at the top right-hand corner with a corn cob in the middle as its symbol and ‘tesito’, justice, discipline as its motto. The party has its secretariat at Manjanko House, Block 64, Kanifing Estate.

Bakary B. Dabo had worked at SeneGambia Secretariat and had served as Finance minister in the First Republic.

He also served Jammeh as Finance minister briefly in 1994.
