The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) officials who were arrested were last Thursday 9th July 2009 released, this paper has been informed.
Baba Trawalleh, Comissioner of Customs, Bakary Sanyang, Commissioner of Domestic Tax, Momodou Lamin Marena, Airport Operations, Baboucarr Loum, Officer-in-charge of Basse, Edi Touray, Officer-in-charge of Farafenni and Momodou Penda Gaye, one time in charge of Amdallai post were some time on the 18th of June 2009 arrested and taken into custody at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters for questioning.
No official reason(s) were advanced as to their arrest.
