The alleged theft case involving one Babucarr Jawo could not proceed recently at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Babucarr Secka of the Brikama Magistrates' Court.

Jawo was alleged to have stolen two cows valued at D30,000.

When the trial resumed, the prosecuting officer, Sgt 935 Jammeh, informed the court that he was applying for an adjournment on the grounds that the exhibits were not in court.

In response, defence counsel Mbye told the court that the defence was not opposing the prosecution's application for an adjournment.

He said the case could not proceed without the exhibits and, therefore, urged the prosecution to come with the exhibits on the next adjournment date.

The case was adjourned to 9 June 2011.
