Alagie Sarr Happy With Victory

Friday, March 27, 2009

Following his side's third defeat in a row, the head coach of Sea View FC Alagie Sarr told Pointsports that he was delighted to get his boys back to their winning spirit with a deserved 1-0 win over Wallidan on Wednesday.

"Of course you have to be disappointed about losing three consecutive gamesin a row especially at a time when you should stand strong in order to mount a serious title challenge," said the elated coach.

He added, "I believe we can finish the season with a respectable position probably from within 3rd, 4th or 5th noting that we are trying to maintain the team in the first division so as to prepare much better for next season."

The former Wallidan and GPA head coach further expressed disappointment when he saw two red-cards flashed in the faces of Sea View duo of Sulayman Banda and goalkeeper Badou Ceesay during their narrow 1-0 victory over Wallidan at the Independence Stadium on Wednesday 25th March 2009.

Alagie Sarr was however adamant that the dismissal of goalkeeper Badou Ceesay was not deserved adding that even the spectators know that the decision was a controversial one.

"There is nothing I and my players can do about the incident and we have taken it in good faith. The victory was the most important thing and we have achieved that," he said.

"We need to be more organised and continue playing in an attacking way and also to keep focus on the defensive tactics and avoid conceding many goals.

Alagie Sarr finally hailed the performance of his boys for what he described as an "outstanding display" from Sea View.
