Activities to continue in WC Regional 3rd division after independence and inauguration

Actions are set to continue in the 2016-2017 West Coast Regional third division league this weekend after the observation of the country’s 52nd independence anniversary celebrations and inauguration of Adama Barrow as president of the Third Republic on Saturday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

As part of week-six fixtures, on Saturday 25 February 2017, Gunjur United will rub shoulders with Tanji United in the all-Kombo South derby encounter at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.

Gunjur United are third-place in group A with 4 points in two games following their resounding 2-0 win over Jambanjelly United in their opening league fixtures before their 1-all draw with debutants Jabang Soccer boys in their second game.

The Gunjur-based outfit will vie to beat Tanji United and top group A.

Tanji United are second-spot in the group with 5 points in three games and will be contending to defeat Gunjur United to pile pressure on group A leaders Sifoe United with 6 points in three games.

Elsewhere, Jambanjelly United will host Tujereng United in the all-Kombo South derby clash at the Jambanjelly Football Field.

Jambanjelly United are currently rooted bottom-place in group A with zero point in one game after their 2-0 defeat to Gunjur United in their opening league fixtures.

The Jam-city boys will be hoping to recover against Tujereng United after losing to Gunjur United 2-0 in their opening league fixtures to keep their dreams of finishing top spot in group A.

Tujereng United are with 1 point in two games played and will hunt to beat Jambanjelly United to improve their position in group A.

On Sunday 26 February 2017, Sanyang United will welcome Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Football Academy at the Sanyang Football Field, while University of The Gambia will meet Kombo Kerewan United in group B at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on the same day.
