Speaking to Pointsports yesterday at his office at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, GFA President Kinteh assured Gambians that the FA would do all necessary preparations to make sure that the U20 team qualifies for the championship.
GFA President said that, "we will prepare our self for the return leg as we will be inviting all our foreign players for the game". He said that the "players that were invited in the first leg could not make it due to no approval from their team mangers but it is going to be an international duty, so we will have all our players available for the return leg".
According to the GFA president "the team will be arriving today via Dakar, Senegal and will be giving a one day off to resume training for the return leg slated for the 12thOctober 2008, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau."
He then urge the general public including the private sector to come all out on 12thOctober 2008, to give maximum support to the boys so that the team will qualify for the second time in the CAF youth championship, as the team has a better chance of qualifying than the Ghanian side. It could be recalled that the Gambia U20 team on Saturday lost to the Black Stars of Ghana in AccraGhana by 2-1 and if the Gambia is to qualify they most win Ghana by at least 1-0 in Banjul.
