Yusupha Sowe and Ousman Faal,students at MendawSeniorSecondary School on Wednesday 24thSeptember 2008 arraigned before The Brikama Magistrates'Court for stealing contrary to section 252 of the criminal code cap to Vol III laws of the Gambia.

According to the charge Yusupha Sowe and Ousman Faal on or about the 11thday of June 2008 at Joko Nightclub in Brikama, the two accused jointly stole 13 plastic chairs valued D3, 500.

When the charge was read to them, the second accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour.

According to Chief Inspector Camara the theft happened on the 11thday of June 2008. The two accused had gone into a bar and after enjoying their drink they attempted to steal plastic chairs by placing them on top of the fence but were spotted by the complainant. They attempted to run away but wereapprehended and taken to the policestation for further investigation. He said the 13 plastic chairs were later recovered and the accused persons were jointly charged with the offence committed.
