Tuesday, September 16, 2008

World View Gambia recently concluded a three-day workshop aimed at preventing violence against women and children in Kerewan in the North Bank Region. The workshop brought together participants from Kerewan and its environs. Speaking at the closing ceremony, the assistant governor, Abdoulie Jallow, hailed World View Gambia for staging the workshop which, he said, would contribute to ending violence against women and children. He advised the participants to share the knowledge gained from the workshop with their friends and communities.

For his part, Jainaba Nyang Njie, a member of Action Aid The Gambia, said that the protection of women and children is very significant in our society. In conclusion she commended World View Gambia for organising the workshop.
