Alleged Vehicle Thief in Court

According to the particulars of the offence, on or about 24thApril 2008 at Manjai-Kunda , the accused stole a motor vehicle with the registration number BJL 1229C, valued at D35,000, the property of one Samba Camara.

He denied the charge.

The case was then adjourned until 2ndSeptember 2008.

In a separate development, Magistrate B.O Jobe of the Bundung Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced one Bara Secka, a driver, to fine of D1000, in default to serve three months' imprisonment. He was also ordered to compensate the victim in the sum of D6000, in default to serve one-year imprisonment.

Mr Secka, was on 5thAugust 2008 at Sukuta Junction, said to have hit one Feidel Camara with his vehicle and thereby broke his legs.
