After two years absence as a result of indiscipline among teams, the Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Nawettan is back in action. On Sunday, 17th August, the tournament kicked off in grand style with hundreds of football pundits around the area marking a memory day.

Landing Jatta, Public Relations Officer of Sanchaba sports Committee, while speaking to Pointsports, said the reason their has not been any Nawettan from the area for the passed two seasons was because teams failed to maintain discipline during the 2005 tournament.
According to him, that year, over 20 teams were participating in the championship and were creating a lot of problems and were lacking in discipline.
He said as a result, the committee decided to suspend the tournament for two years so that teams will know the importance to of exercising discipline in the game.
PRO Jatta also stated that before the commencement of the Nawettan a series of meetings were conducted with the team representatives to ensure that there would be a high level of discipline maintained during the competition adding that failure to do so will result in a team being fined.
Momodou Jallow, chairman of the Committee, also confirmed that there will be zero tolerance for any team or fan in terms of indiscipline.
He said very attractive prizes will be awarded to the champions of the tournament.
