Sport Journalists Sink in Stakeholders Football Tourney

A lack of team preparation has surely manifested itself on the Sport Journalists football team in the first ever stakeholders' football tournament which is currently underway.

After playing two matches, the team from group A have so far conceded 17 goals and recorded only two.

They were beaten 4-0 by Football Medics and on Sunday registered the heaviest defeat so far in the tournament when they succumbed 13-2 to the Football Coaches on Sunday at the Independence Stadium.

The game was purely dominated by the Football Coaches who were well prepared for the game and opened the scores very early.

After five minutes of play Alhagie Nyassi opened the scores and other players who had their names recorded where Abdourahman Njie, Alfusainey Fatty, Abdoulie Bojang and Alhagie Sey.

The lions share of goals were scored by Lamin Sallah in the 12th, 37th, 42nd, 52nd and 60th minutes.

George Rogers and Ahmed Tijan Kella changed the score line to 13 -2 when they netted in their goals in the 37th and 58th minutes respectively.

With a single game to go against the Football Administrators, the journalist's side are surely out of the tournament

The game between football administrators and Medics played later on Sunday ended 1-1.

Ousman Manneh of the Medical team and Hatib Janneh  who played for the administrators scored  for their teams in the 20th and 50th minutes. The game was a well-contended one.
