The set setal as it is locally called was well received and appreciated by the market women and the elders of the village. They expressed gratitude to the BMRA for undertaking such excellent work.
Speaking at
the end of the cleaning exercise, Ba Jabbi, Chairman of the Association,
informed the gathering that the exercise was held to kick start this year's
marathon run which is slated for December 6th2008. He pointed out that the theme of the

The association, according to him, hopes to reawaken peoples' interest in the excellent initiative of environmental cleanliness as shown by the Leadership of this country. He noted that the set setal exercise will be a continuous affair and called on all youth organisations and stakeholders to come forward and support the BMRA in this endeavour.
Mr. Yankuba Sano, a representative of the Alkalo of Brufut Alhagi Yunusa Sano, commended the association for once again coming out with an excellent social program geared towards national development adding that, "A healthy environment saves lives."
Other speakers included Mariama Saine and Pa Touray, executive members of the association, who gave a brief history of the achievements made by the association in terms of community sensitisation on issues affecting the community since its inception in 1994. The exercise ended at 1400hrs and the next one will be take place on July 20th 2008 in Brufut.
