The annual Njawara Marathon, organized by the Njawara Youth Development Society last Saturday was won by the acclaimed10 km runner, Mustapha Sidebeh.
He was awarded a cash prize of D1000, goal medal, certificate and a trophy.
Andrew Jasseh, who came out second received D800, silver medal and a certificate.
While the third place winner, Dawda M.L. Ceesay, received a Bronze Medal and a certificate.
In the 5km race, which started from Darusalam to Njawara, Fatou M. Sanyang came out first. She received D1000, goal medal, certificate and a trophy.
Mariama T. Jallow came out second and was awarded a cash prize of D800 and a Silver Medal and Awa Jobe who came out third got a Bronze Medal and a certificate.
Masireh Trawally was the winner of the 3km category .
He went home with a stationary package worth about D 500.
Second and third positions holders, Ismaila Jagne and Ebrima Jobe, also received a stationary package worth D300 and D200 respectively.
The marathon was graced by the Aji Haddy Panneh, Alkalo of Njawara village and some government officials.
