One Ousman Jallow has been sentenced to a jail term of one and a half years. Alternatively, he is to pay a fine of D6000.
Mr Jallow was recently arraigned before the Central River Region travelling magistrate Amadou Baldeh for stealing. He was said to have stolen from one Dembo Bayo the sum of D1, 235, CFA 29, 000. In addition, he is also said to have stolen the sum of seventy-five dalasis and a mobile phone valued at D1500 from one Babucarr Jaye. The theft is said to have taken place at the Brikamaba car park.
In passing his sentence, Magistrate Amadou Baldeh urged the convict to desist from such illegal activities and venture into profitable trade that will earn him a decent living.
