The first edition of the eight team Regional Gambia Football Association female league has seen interesting performances with Waterman opening their campaign with a solid and very promising performance last weekend.
Waterman, pitted in group A, proved to be a force to be reckoned with and trashed Rising Stars 5-1 in Basse, boosting their prospects of making it in the final stages of the three -week competition. The first team from each group will play in the final.
Gam-com institute, also from group A defeated Young stars 1-0 in Bansang.
Tendaba (Kwinella) are currently leading group B after beating Jah Oil (J/west) 1-0 at home.
The Chaku Bantang and Jalikasa game could not be held last weekend but Pointsports was reliably informed that the game is scheduled for this weekend.
Meanwhile, matches will resume this weekend and all will be played simultaneously on Sunday. Week two matches are expected to be well contested as participating teams will be fighting for the top spot from the two groups.
