Youths fined for violating Highway Code

africa » gambia
Tuesday, July 01, 2008

The Bundung Magistrates' Court recently sentenced three youths to pay a fine of D500 for violating the Highway Code.

Ousman Bah, Sheikh Ndure and Malick Njie could spend three months in jail if they each fail in paying the D500 fine.

The trio was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle in a negligent manner and without driver's license.

The particulars of the offence revealed that the three youths were driving in a car on Bertil Harding Highway in January of this year and, in the process, knocked down a little girl who was trying to cross the road.
