Friday, June 27, 2008

Alasana Sidibeh of Bakoteh was on Tuesday charged at the Bundung Magistrates' Court for robbery.

However, the charge sheet was, upon the request of the prosecution, amended from robbery to stealing.

The amended version of the charge sheet read that Alasana had, on or about 15 March 2008, stolen a mobile phone and D500 from one Fatou Sowe at Tippa Garace in Bakoteh.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was consequently given bail at the tune of D20,000 with other bail requirements attached.

The case, to be chaired by Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, will resume on 15 July 2008.

Inspector L. Touray will prosecute the case on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
