A Nigerian national, Ikeme Peters, was yesterday charged at the Bundung Magistrates' Court for attempting to rape a teenager.
The facts of the matter stated that Ikeme, in April of this year, attempted to rape a girl in her teens. The incident allegedly occurred in Tallinding and the girl involved is a student.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and the prosecution had sought for the adjournment of the case 'because the girl' is a student and had gone to school to sit to her exams. The application, not objected to by defence counsel Kebba Sanyang, was granted.
The case now resumes on 15 July 2008.
