The gesture, made possible through the support of a British couple Alison and Eric Wilson, was officially handed to the beneficiaries at a ceremony held at the school grounds on recently.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr. Molamin Manjang, Secretary General of the Kaffo, said this is not the first time such donations from the Kaffoo have been extended to schools.
According to Mr. Manjang, Nyodema Kaffoo is here to assist Gambian schools in as much as they can. "We will continue to support Kassa Kunda Lower Basic and other schools in the country particularly those in Western Region", he said.
Mr. Bakary Touray, Principal of Kassa Kunda Lower Basic School, expressed appreciation for the gesture which, he added, will go a long way in helping the school as it is one of the schools that is in dire need of furniture.
Mr. Touray promised that the furniture would be put to good use. He commended Nyodema for what he described as a timely gesture.
Others Speakers at the Occasion included Mr. Kujabi, representative from the Regional Education Office, Region II, the Alkalo of the village and the Parent Teachers Association chairman who all expressed appreciation at the gesture.
The occasion was graced by officials of the Kaffoo, representatives from the Regional Education Office, Region II, staff and students of the school and a cross section of the community.
