Lamin Institute of Professional Studies (LIPS) recently held its 8th graduation ceremony at St Peter's
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bai Jagne, the former airport manager and chairman of the board of trustees, expressed his delight to the gathering at the fact that they were all there to witness the event, which he described as another academic success story.
He said that their achievements had come through regulation, control, complete application to duty and through the imparting of knowledge by the tutors at the institution.
Mr. Jagne further thanked Mr. Daniel Osajie, the proprietor, for the valuable services he has rendered to the community complimented by the efforts of his devoted staff. He further urged the graduates to forge ahead in their quest for knowledge.
For his part, Mr. Silver, a senior education officer, expressed his happiness to the gathering saying that the graduates have entered a new world. He said that they should follow the example of former graduates who have built better lives, got better jobs and in some cases traveled to further themselves.
The vice-chairperson of LIPS, Mrs. Absatou Saidy, also stated that graduates should continue in their quest for knowledge. She stated that they would require discipline and enlightenment to achieve their goals.
For his part, Mr. Daniel Osajie, the proprietor of LIPS, expressed his delight to the board of trustees. He said that many former graduates of LIPS have gone on to hold a variety of significant positions in The Gambia. He finally urged them to go and seek out knowledge and continue to achieve in their lives.
Other speakers included Mr. Lamin Kandeh the proprietor of the National Association for Vocations and Skills Training Institute and Lamin Touray. Dodou S. Jarjue, a former graduate, gave the vote of thanks.
