Teams from Banjul, KMC and Western Region will participate in a football tournament as part of the 9th edition of the International Roots Festival.
The tournament will be from Friday, 23rd to Friday 30th May at the Banjul Mini Stadium (KG5).
According to Ebou Faye, Sports Coordinator, the tournament is being staged to enhance the participation of youths and to give the 9th edition of the International Roots Festival more excitement.
He said the Mobilisation and Sensitisation Sub-Committee have decided to organise a football tournament to be competed by winners of the 2007 Nawetaan league and knock-out from Banjul, KMC and Brikama.
Digi Dambi and Wharfi Eliminite football teams will represent Banjul, KMC representatives are Makassa and Bantaba football clubs. Berewoling and Dawudist FC will represent Brikama.
