British Philanthropists Inaugurate Nursery School in Jalangbang

The community of Jalangbang in western Region last Saturday benefited from a two classroom Nursery school block sponsored by two British philanthropic organisations namely School 4 Schools and Maintenance management Ltd. (MML) worth nearly D500, 000.

Speaking at the inauguration, Modou Jobe, project manager schools 4 schools, commended the community of Jalangbang for allocating land for them to build a Nursery school for the village.

He said the sponsors spent D460, 000 on the construction of the structure and advised them to take good care of the building

Mr Jobe stated that plans are at an advanced stage for the sponsors to take care of the salaries of the teachers and the uniforms for children.

Nil Harisson a representative of MML said their family has a foundation and its aim is to give support to children.

For his part the Alkalo of the village Joeba Bah thanked the donors for the sponsorship and assured them that the school will put into good use.

Mr Bah called on the villagers to make sure that every child has access to the school irrespective of religion or tribe.

The school will be attended by 133 children.

Representatives of the Regional Education Office and the Catholic Education Secretariat attended the occasion.
