Judgement has been finally delivered in the case of a Tabokoto youth who was earlier charged at the Bundung Magistrates' Court for cutting off the ear of a Tabokoto resident.

Magistrate George recently awarded a penalty of an 18-month jail term to Lamin Sanneh for lacerating the ear of one Sulayman Sarjo with a cutlass.

According to the details of the case, as adduced by the prosecution, Lamin was earlier this year engaged in a brawl with Sulayman and in the process used a cutlass to cut Sulayman's ear. The ear, said the prosecution, had dropped off on impact.

In his judgement, Magistrate George sentenced Lamin to pay a court fine of D2800 or serve 18 months in jail. He was also ordered to pay a compensation of D800 to Sulayman.
