YJAG Executive Meets US Ambassador

The executive of the Young Journalists Association of the Gambia, YJAG, paid a courtesy call yesterday to the United States Ambassador to the Gambia, Mr. Barry L. Wells, at his office along

Speaking to this reporter shortly afterwards Mr. Nfamara Jawneh YJAG president said the meeting was meant to thank Ambassador Wells for gracing the official launch ceremony of YJAG and to officially introduce the association to the US diplomat. "Basically the visit was meant to thank the Ambassador for attending our launch.  We also discussed with him our plans for the year and our forthcoming nation wide tour of schools," he said.

In response, Ambassador Wells assured YJAG of his office's support. He acknowledged the crucial role media plays in the development of a society.

The meeting was chaired by the YJAG Secretary General Mr. Demba Kandeh who outlines the aims and objectives of the association to the US ambassador.
