Kombo East District Noran kick off

In a bid to promote the game of football, Kombo East District Noran kicked off over the weekend at a colourful ceremony held at Faraba Bantang. The Noran is organised by the Kombo East Sport Development Association. (12) team are taking part in the Noran. In the opening encounter, Sohm Village played against Ba-soine village and the game ended 2-1 in favour of Ba-Soine village.

In addressing the match, the Chief of Kombo East, Alhagie Basiru Jarjue, called on the youth to involve themselves more in football which can now generate a lot of money in the game of football.

He then spoke at length on the importance of football, then advised the youth to maintained a high standard of discipline. He noted that before anybody is qualified in the game of football, there is a need for the individual to exercise patience and show high moral discipline. "Without discipline nothing can go through," he said.

For his part, Hon Lamin Bojang, the National Assembly Member for Kombo East, expressed appreciation for the keen co-operation of the Kombo East Youths. He noted that the youth of Kombo East are committed to national development. He added that without co-operation then there will be no meaningful development. Hon. Bojang thanked the sponsor CCF and the organising committee for making the tournament a success.

"I am ready to support the youth in all form in terms of development," he said. He then challenged the youth to keep a good relationship among themselves. Turning to the issue of security, Hon Bojang re-assured the public that, the tournament will be provided maximum security, in-order to avoid misunderstandings.

Among the youths, he also stated that in any competition, there must be a looser and winner, therefore, if any team is unfortunate, "Let them exercise patience and avoid such quarrelling. The opening Match was well attended by the District Sport Committee as well as some government officials.
